ABOUT ASPIRE COACHING

Aspire Coaching has been operating for over 20 years delivering primary school PE and other sport related provision to the local community. Many of the schools and clubs we work alongside we have been associated with for between 10 and 20 years.

We are at the forefront of multi-skills tuition, we will educate children using physical literacy to obtain skills for life. Through sport, children will be encouraged to participate, enjoy and improve.

Nigel Gardner


For over 20 years Nigel has been at the forefront of Aspire Coaching. Unlike other sports coaching company directors, he continues to actively deliver coaching sessions to children through PE, after school clubs, breakfast clubs, holiday courses and evening and weekend football sessions everyday. He also takes on the all encompassing aspects of running the company and managing a small team of fantastic coaches.


He is driven by a passion to help and inspire children to the best of his ability, encouraging children to want to become their best and hopes Aspire reflects this. He believes many coaches think you are only good if you coach elite athletes, but through many years experience he knows that without grassroots coaches there would be no elite athletes. By coaching a mixture of ages and abilities everyday gives great satisfaction and he believes grassroots coaching is just as important as elite coaching.


Beginning with an Honours Degree in Leisure Management, whilst with Aspire, Nigel has achieved his Level 5 Certificate in Primary School PE and School Sport Specialism and Multi-Skills Level 2 enabling him to help support schools further with their PE provision. Grassroots football is his 'bread and butter' obtaining his FA Level 2, Youth Modules, FA Level 1 Futsal, FA Mentoring Adults and an Open University Course in Coaching Others to Coach. His longstanding commitment to Petersfield Town Football Club started at the first playing age of 9 years old continuing to the end at U16s. The following season of 1992-93 he became a volunteer coach for Petersfield Town Juniors helping in the mini section where he remains now 30 years later as Head of Mini Football and Acrreditation Standards Officer.


He hugely enjoys his diverse and varied role is proud to be able to provide sport and physical activity to the community


QUALIFIED And experienced


All of our coaches have now undertaken their primary school PE and school sport (PESS) level 3 qualifications. They hold NGB level 2 qualifications in multi-skills and other sports including football and cricket as well as enhanced DBS's, paediatric first aid and safeguarding in an educational setting level 3 certificates


Director Nigel also holds his Level 5 Primary PE and School Sports specialism certificate

    Aspire Coaching have a proven track record for delivering PE lessons for over 20 years. As a company we are listed on the Hampshire County Council Commercial providers of Physical Education and Sport Coaching Register.


    Aspire Coaching can provide each school with a long term curriculum map and scheme of work designed to last the whole academic year.


    Medium and short term planning


    Definitive learning outcomes with our lesson plans to meet the needs of the National Curriculum.


    Wet weather activities designed to be in a hall or classroom


    Effective and reliable assessment of pupils to show progress.


    Over 200 game and session plans all written up and linked to different aspects of the curriculum


    Our team of coaches educate children through a broad range of physical activities through the year to enhance the children’s fundamental movements and provide skills for life.


    We can offer: Full or half day programmes and the following activities for PE:


    • Invasion Activities

    • Creative Activities (Gymnastics & Dance)

    • Strike & Field and Net & Wall Activities

    • Outdoor Adventurous Activities (OAA)

  • Extra-Curricular Clubs

    We offer a variety of sports to schools for their pupils either as an after school club, breakfast club or lunch time club.


    Clubs are over a full term or half term and we can offer clubs in a range of activities to extend the PE curriculum for KS1 and KS2 or both

  • Pre-School Settings

    Using our multi-skill background we have devised a programme that is suitable for early year centres allowing the children to experience new activities and games designed to improve their balance, co-ordination and agility. 


    We have seen extremely successful improvement of fundamental movement skills, confidence and competence in all children in our current pre-school settings we deliver too, giving them a greater advantage when at infant or primary school.

  • Inset Days/ Provision for Children

    We can offer the children in your school a full days programme of sport & crafts when your school is closed for teacher training.


    The children will take part in various games and sports to enhance their fundamental skills and movements in a slightly more relaxed and fun day.


    We can offer crafts and indoor activities if the weather is bad

  • Workshops

    We have a variety of workshops we can provide to help further extend learning in the Physical Education environment


    • Gifted and Talented PE Workshops

    • Gifted and Talented Football Sessions


    Through the academic year we deliver various workshops to allow the children to complete the Sports Leaders Playmaker award.


    Upon completion the children are then qualified to lead mini style games within your school. An ideal opportunity to help ‘positive play’ at break times.


    Our football session are designed to allow the most talented players at small schools to come together train and play matches v larger schools to allow for a more competitive fixtures




  • School Special Events

    We are able to offer our services and expertise to organise special school events such as school sports days, inter house tournaments and sporting challenges.


    We also deliver level 2 inter schools competitions in Football, Rounders and Tag-Rugby to school clusters

  • Evening Football Team Coaching

    We work in association with Petersfield Town Juniors FC, Liss Athletic Youth FC and Manor Colts  FC in Alton to deliver Mini Football as well as advanced coaching to older teams already competing so that all players and teams develop and improve.

  • Consultancy

    We can come in to offer PE curriculum advice and guidance to help enhance its provision and stress the importance of putting pupils at the heart of the learning during PE to improve whole school learning.
